The research was conducted on the experimental garden of the Faculty of
Agriculture, North Sumatera University with altitude 25 metres form the sea level.
The objective of the research was to identify the growth and the production of the
best mungbean sprout (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) The Randomized Block
Design was used with three replications.
The results showed that the Sampeong variety signifantly affected the
plant height at 8 – 10 weeks, the number of primary branches, the number of
secondary branches, the time of flowering, the time of harvested, the pods length,
the number of seed per pod, the weight of 100 seed. Whereas the Sriti variety
showed the best in the radicle lengthbefore planted and the radical length after
planted, the weight of 100 fresh sprouts, and the weight of 100 fresh sprout after
planted.
